New book on “Vehicular ad hoc Networks” published

Claudia Campolo (Università Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria, Italy), Antonella Molinaro (Università Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria, Italy) and Riccardo Scopigno (Istituto Superiore Mario Boella, Italy) have published the book: “Vehicular ad hoc Networks. Standards, Solutions, and Research”.

This book presents vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs) from their onset, providing a clear understanding of both theoretical foundations and more practical investigation.

The editors gathered top-ranking authors from Academia and from Standardization and Industry sectors from around the world in order to provide comprehensiveness and timely content. ERTICO’s Maxime Flament, François Fischer and Yvonne Barnard are the authors of a chapter dedicated to FOTs.

The covered topics are organized around five parts:

  •  Historical overview of vehicular communications and standardization/harmonization activities
  •  Theoretical foundations of VANETs and day-one standard-compliant solutions
  •  Vehicular networking and security
  •  Tools to study VANETs, from mobility and channel models, to network simulators and field trial methodologies
  •  The future of VANETs
